| After becoming born again in 1985, I surrendered to full time service, specifically to
become a missionary. My wife and I tried several times to attend Bible college and begin the journey
to preach the Gospel message to the unreached peoples of the world. We were unsuccessful.
However, God in his infinite wisdom left the desire in my heart to be involved with world wide missions ministry. We have worked with all age groups within the church including teens, college and career age young adults, young married couples and even children's ministry. In addition, I have continued to be involved by participating in mission projects to Mexico. I realize now that He was using those experiences to train me and develop my approach to missions related ministry. There are many like me, who have a family and responsibilities that will not allow them to pick up and move to another part of the world to share the Gospel, but share a deep desire to fulfill the command given by our Lord to go into the world and make disciples of every nation, teaching them in His ways. For us, participation means more than simply prayer and financial support...we want to "go." At PCC, I have assumed the leadership of the Missions Ministry Team. In this capacity, I am having a blast working with my team mates to provide a way for those of us with ties here in the states, to have an opportunity to "go." Our vision is to provide the planning, financial assistance, team building, leadership, encouragement, and whatever else may be necessary to make it possible for each member at PCC to participate more fully in taking the Gospel to those outside our neighborhood. Some will go, others will handle registration, documentation or accounting, secure transportation, or help raise funds to cover expenses of the trips. This vision will enable anyone with the desire to be used of God through a missions project, to realize that goal through the most efficient use of their time and effort. |
