MONTERREY, MEXICO
Ministry Detail Project Overview: Our project in Monterrey will take you two hours south of the border between the United States and Mexico. Our goal is to build up local churches and ministries, working alongside our Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ so that Monterrey will be changed for Christ. Your day will be divided between possible construction, evangelism, prayer, and sports camp VBS children's ministry. Ministry Description: Ministry opportunities include vacation Bible school (VBS), door-to-door evangelism, prayer walks, discipleship visits, possible orphanage service, sports evangelism (most likely soccer), evening outreaches, and construction of churches or homes for the poor. Food & Lodging Our group will be housed in a secured encampment located with dorms at Camp La Vina. The dorms house four participants and have their own bathroom. There is no air conditioning, but air coolers are provided in the dorms and they have electricity for fans if you would like to bring them. Please bring bedding and towels. Food is prepared on site, and safe drinking water is provided. The encampment is located about 7 miles from our ministry site. Dress Code FEMALES MALES No flashy clothes or jewelry. Do not bring clothes with American logos and advertisements. Something simple like Old Navy is ok, but remember what you wear is a physical representation of who you are. Both guys and girls do not bring clothing that is tight, too small, or form-fitting in any way. Do not bring pants that are low-cut. If you can bend over and touch your toes without showing any skin in the back, then your shirt and pants are ok. If you can raise your hands all the way above your head and not show your stomach, then your shirt is ok. Shirts should not have scoop necks or low v-necks. Travel Information Transportation: We will drive to Mexico, entering in Reynosa and exiting through Matamorros. We will meet our translators at the border, where they will escort us across and ride with us to Monterrey. Visa & Passport: Each participant must have a Passport. Since we are to be in Mexico for less than 7 days, visas should not be required for U.S. citizens Tolls & Exit Tax: A toll is required for cars, vans, and buses to cross the U.S./Mexican border. Mexico does not have an entrance or exit tax. Shots & Vaccinations: A current Tetanus shot is required; Hepatitis A is recommended. Suggested Christian Travel Agency: 1.
